Chng Seok TinChng Seok Tin (aka莊心珍,original: 莊淑珍, pen names:长缨、莊歆、阿招、余波、心珍 ) is an established Singapore writer. She is a multi-hypehenate artist whose creativity also extends to fine arts and photography for which she has won awards.

Since 1970s, Seok Tin’s popular columns, often humorous, satiric, were a staple in the national Chinese newspaper and magazines (including art reviews) in Singapore and some in Hong Kong.

Seok Tin has won 2nd prize in the ‘Worldwide Chinese Essay Competition’ organised by the Wide Angle Press, Hong Kong. 求职记pinyin: jiu zhi ji (Job Search Journal) in 1977 – reprinted in her Afternoon Tea Time book (Chinese).

Her artworks and essay心语 (heart talk)are found in school textbooks in Singapore, and this essay also in Hong Kong’s.

In 2007, Singapore Literature Society honoured her with their Singapore Chinese Literary Award.

The prolific writer has published 13 books, most of them adorned with her own illustrations.

Honours she garnered : Woman of the Year 2001 by Her World magazine, top artistic honor of being awarded Cultural Medallion by the President, Singapore in 2005 and among the first to be inducted into Singapore Women Hall of Fame 2014.

Seok Tin hopes to reach out to a wider audience through translation of her books into other languages.
